Okay, so this post is a bit belated as I think I first mentioned writing it almost two months ago now, but nonetheless, I finally got around to it! I had such mixed feelings about picking paint colors for our new construction, completely flat-white walled home. I loved sorting through all of the color options and dreaming up future décor themes, but it was also stressful!
How will I know if we like it? What if it’s too light, too dark, or just plain off?
If you’re reading this, I’m sure you’ve already spent so. much. time. studying paint swatches, too.
So, I’m sharing all of the colors that were on my list before narrowing them down to our final picks! I also wanted to share the website of an interior designer named Kylie, because her site was SO helpful in comparing colors and getting examples of colors on the walls of real homes!
Otherwise, I had some help from friends, fam, and coworkers!
Another thing I found super helpful were the color picker tools on Benjamin Moore & Sherwin Williams’ website that allowed you to view the colors by room. Although they can appear quite different on the screen, it still gave me a good idea.
Here’s an example of what that looks like:
We ended up going with colors from both companies!
Our house is a blend of modern, industrial, coastal, & boho chic all rolled into one, so that’s the vibe of the colors you’ll find below. We also have a very open concept downstairs floor plan, so it’s much less of a ‘room’ by room and more by spaces. I love neutrals but also wanted to play with color, opting for a lot of feature/accent walls throughout our home.
Without further ado, the colors I considered are broken out by shade, below.
