I recently asked a question on my Story about what people’s favorite bedding was and got tons of responses! I think we’re all passionate about whatever helps to give us a good night’s sleep.

I asked because we’ve had our bedroom set for a few years and it’s a) started creaking and b) we have a Leesa mattress…but it’s on top of box springs, which is a big no, no. But the way our bed frame is, it needs box springs. Soo, yea.

Our sheets are also starting to feel super worn and even a bit yellowed. Booo. I do still love our duvet which was a wedding gift and is from Parachute Home. However, we just have a cheap Target comforter inside of it that’s much too small for it and shifts all around and drives me crazy.

We also haven’t been sleeping with a blanket or quilt between the sheets and mattress, and haven’t had any big shams across the back of the bed so I’m hoping to bring it all together to achieve a more ‘hotel-bed’ look & feel!

Blah blah blah, all that to say – with moving this fall (spoiler alert!), I’ve been eyeing new bedroom furniture and bedding.

As with all things, I start with the full vision and decide if we can get it all, budget-wise. If not, I pick my favorite pieces that I can’t find less expensive versions of and work to achieve the rest of the look from there.

I’ll be honest, I’m kind of dreaming with all of this but as always I’m like #WILLWORKFORFURNITURE. Ha. But seriously...

THE INSPIRATION

I’d been seeing bedding pictures from The Citizenry in this stunning shade of Olive and I’m obsessed. It’s only made better by the fact that it’s all sustainably made by artisans in Portugal and crafted from the finest French linen – which is also a more environmentally-friendly material!

I think it goes perfectly with a fabric bed with rattan nightstands and a coordinating bench. You can’t totally get a feel for the color in the design board, because umm I haven’t quite figure out how to digitally make a bed.

But you can see my inspo pic below which is from Pure Salt Interiors. Swoooon.

If I had to choose a few words for the aesthetic I’m going for, it’d be a mix of transitional California casual? Or organic modern? …Something along those lines.

Anyhow, here’s what I’ve worked up!
